Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Dawson, of La Vernia, Texas, announce her passing.  Cindy was a caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She left this world suddenly on February 8, 2021 at the age of 58 from an unexpected heart condition.  Although she left this world too soon, her loving heart left a beacon of light for everyone in the family.

She was born to Robert and Norma Dawson on November 27, 1962 in Reno, Nevada.  After spending her early years in California, making lifetime friends, she and her family moved to Texas.  She graduated from Samuel Clemens High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart Matt Shows. Together, they have two wonderful children: Andrew and Andrea.

Cindy loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family.  Her mom Norma, for whom she was the primary caregiver, would often say about her cooking that “you can call me anything but late for supper”.  She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved music and her favorite band was Blue October. She loved to dance and sing. She was a very caring and selfless person and wanted the best for everyone. She had a gentle spirit except when you challenged her family.

She is survived by her mother Norma, sisters Nancy Galle (and husband Doug) and Beverly Burch, children Andrew Shows, Andrea Shows, daughter in-law Kim Shows and son in-law to be Brent Edelman; grandchildren Bryson, Ashlynd and Luke; cousins, niece and nephew, and great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her loving father Robert Dawson and her brother Robby Miles.

Flowers can be sent to her mother at 136 Rolling Hills, La Vernia TX, 78121. My mother’s passing was unexpected. She will be missed. We are excepting donations to help with her funeral arrangements. Any little bit helps.
