Erik Gonzales

December 2, 1979 — March 17, 2022

San Antonio

Erik Gonzales, 42, was unexpectedly called home to be with our Lord on the morning of March, 17, 2022 at his residence.

He was born in Dallas, TX to Carlos “Blue” and Melinda Gonzales whom he joins in Heaven along with Tony and Norberta “Wela” Martinez and Beloved Great-Grandma Fannie Ojeda Velez.

Erik, a long time resident of San Antonio, was the kind hearted soul who at just 13, asked to move from Dallas to San Antonio to take care of his Wela who was battling Breast Cancer. He dedicated over 15 years to Southern Warehousing and Distribution where he worked as a Supervisor. His big smile and infectious laugh will be remembered along with his “get the job done” attitude by all his peers at Southern.

He watched WWE SmackDown and Monday Night Raw religiously and given a beautiful day in S.A you could’ve caught him outside on his patio grilling. He lived for vacations to Port Aransas and couldn’t miss a summer float tubing down the Comal River.

Erik is survived by his wife Melissa Marie Gonzales; Sons: Roman Galvan, Elias Gonzales, Ronnie Jr and Rayden Castilleja; Daughters: Alizay Santi Gonzales and Royalty Marie “Little Melinda” Gonzales all of San Antonio, TX. Brothers: Mario Rodriguez of Dallas, TX; Moses and Clarissa Rodriguez of Forney, TX; Sister: Celeste and Wife Brenda Gonzales of Dallas, TX. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and friends.

He was full of life and always smiling, a light that never dimmed. He did everything wholeheartedly and succeeded in overcoming every challenge that came across his path. He was resilient and strength came natural. Erik will always be remembered as a gift from God and the kindest soul ever, never holding a grudge or staying mad at you. We always looked for him to bring laughter into life and was adored by all who knew him.

He will be missed forever... Fly High Brother, Fly High!
