Gloria Sanchez

December 30, 1939 — March 29, 2021

On  March 29, 2021 Gloria R. Sanchez , loving sister, aunt and great aunt went to meet our Heavenly Father and Creator. Gloria passed peacefully in her sleep, at home with her Family. She was 81 years young and will be deeply missed by so many.

Gloria was born on December 30, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas. She lived a very long and loving life, that was simple, yet full of the good things that were solid and true. She was the eldest Daughter of Solomon and Margarita. Gloria is survived by her two sisters Aurora and Oralia, and her brother Robert . Proceeding in death are her siblings Isabel and Ricardo.

Gloria grew up loving her immediate family and friends and she was always a very thoughtful and giving person. At a very young age she helped care for her siblings, and then later, she helped care for nieces and nephews, and their babies and children.  She took great care of so many and she seemed to do this job effortlessly and so very patiently. She loved babies very much, although she never married or had children of her very own, she cared for so many children with such love and always gave from her heart.

Gloria has left behind many loved ones which include Rose, Yvette, Terri, Barbara, Rebecca, Robert, Margarite, and Malorie, Anthony, Allissa, Leandra, Derek, Timothy, Brianna, Christian, Miranda, Stephanie, Crystal, Nicole, Danielle and Bonnie, Erick, Gil, Ed, Daniel, Evan, Adaline, Mariah, Alexandra, Gloria, Joslyn, Joshua, Vince, Myra, Zenobya, Paco, MaKayla, AnnaBelle, Nathaniel, Deannie, Christina, Tiffany, Journey, Raymond, Angel, Christopher, Zoey, and Fabian,Jr. These are just a few of those that she has loved and cared for.

Gloria was enthusiastic about music. She enjoyed Mariachi and Spanish genres, as well as the Oldies but Goodies from the Fifties and Sixties. She would sit closely by her radio and listen to music and reminisce about younger days. She enjoyed Fiesta time and Parades, drinking black coffee and eating good food, and Gloria was also a great cook.   For so many years she would make stacks of wonderful homemade tortillas for the whole Family to enjoy. This is who she was.

Gloria was a very strong and hardworking lady, who believed in getting up early every morning, to cook and clean. Even as she began to fall ill with Cancer, she still refused to accept her diagnosis. Gloria wanted to still care for those she loved the very most. Although she may have lost the battle, in our eyes she has still won the war!

One of the last things Gloria talked about was wanting her life to be celebrated with music and dancing. She has left behind a legacy of love and she will always be remembered for her warm smile and giving heart. There will never be a more purer heart than that of the heart within Gloria.

On the 29th of March, God's fleet of glorious Angels gained a beautiful soul. May she rest in heavenly peace. We are certain that she will continue to watch over us, but now from a higher ground.  Our family would ask each of you to live your life as Gloria did, to love as much as she did... everyday.
