Juan Otero

Juan Ramon Otero, age 66 went to be with the Lord on Thursday the 14th of January 2021, at Stone Oak Methodist Hospital. He was born on September 26, 1954, in Manati Puerto Rico to Alberto and Blanca O. Maldonado. He was the second son born to his parents. He was a graduate of Norte Vista High School, in Riverside, California. He later married Rosario Mattos, and had 3 children. He moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1985, where he worked as a HVAC technician. Ray as he was called by family and friends loved Tejano music, and always loved animals especially his beloved dog Sasha, he loved cows also. Ray had a nickname for everyone in the family, he was immensely proud of his Puerto Rican heritage. He was an avid sports fan, a huge football fanatic, he was a mechanic and loved hot rods. Ray was a loving son, father, and uncle, he will be missed greatly. He was loved by all his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Alberto O. Maldonado and his brother Alberto Colon Jr. Survivors include his mother Blanca O. Maldonado and his children Idania Delgado and husband Richard, John Otero, and Raymond Otero; grandchildren Taina, Jazlyn, Lyana Delgado; siblings Ibelisie Otero, Joel Otero, Josh Otero, and David Otero; nieces and nephews Josh S. Gilbert “The Orange”, Jennefer Gilbert “Nailz”, John Gilbert ”The Monkey” and Carlos Gilbert “The Ham”; Jason Hodge, Albert Jr. “Bungi”,  Jessica “La Nena” Feliciano, Amanda Otero, Leslie Otero. Great nieces and nephews, Albert, Josiah, Joseph and Jeremiah Feliciano-Otero “known as the baby rabbits”, Leah and Royal Tierese, Ryan, Jeremy, and Victoria Otero.

The family will receive friends for the Visitation at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 beginning at 12 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. and the Burial will be held afterwards at the Chapel Hill Memorial Park
