Lizeth Martinez

Lizeth Angelica Martinez, age 18, of San Antonio, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 3, 2021 in San Antonio.  Lizeth was born on August 26, 2002 in Los Angeles, California to Miguel Martinez Noriega and Luz Angelica Partida Martinez, they survive.  Lizeth was the youngest of four children.  The family moved from LA but LA never left Lizeth – growing up she had an innate passion for the Laker’s and Kobe Bryant – so much so that she pursued basketball as a child and through her time at Roosevelt High School, where she graduated in 2019.

Lizeth attended St. John Neumann’s Catholic Church where she and her brother received their first communions together after being baptized into the Catholic faith as a young girl.  Those who knew her best will remember Lizeth as an outgoing girl who loved the spotlight, especially on social media, and her ability to find fun in any situation.  She also enjoyed travelling, especially to Mexico, Miami and Houston.  Lizeth’s beauty was only outmatched by the love she had for her beloved family.  Her loss leaves a void in the hearts of so many who knew and loved her.

Lizeth is survived by her parents, Miguel and Luz Martinez; siblings, Jeanette Martinez, Bryan Martinez, and Kevin Martinez; niece and nephew, Jeanelle Perez and Romeo Lozada; grandmothers, Luz Maria Chavez and Josefina Martinez; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.

She was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Armando Partida and Gilberto Martinez.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, at Chapel Hill with the Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Lizeth Angélica Martínez, de 18 años, de San Antonio, falleció en las primeras horas de la mañana del sábado 3 de julio de 2021 en San Antonio. Lizeth nació el 26 de agosto de 2002 en Los Ángeles, California de Miguel Martínez Noriega y Luz Angélica Partida Martínez, sobreviven. Lizeth era la menor de cuatro hermanos. La familia se mudó de Los Ángeles, pero Los Ángeles nunca abandonó a Lizeth; mientras crecía tenía una pasión innata por los Lakers y Kobe Bryant, tanto que siguió el baloncesto cuando era niña y durante su tiempo en Roosevelt High School, donde se graduó en 2019.

Lizeth asistió a la iglesia católica St. John Neumann, donde ella y su hermano recibieron sus primeras comuniones después de ser bautizados en la fe católica cuando eran una niña. Aquellos que la conocieron mejor recordarán a Lizeth como una chica extrovertida a la que le encantaba ser el centro de atención, especialmente en las redes sociales, y su habilidad para encontrar diversión en cualquier situación. También le gustaba viajar, especialmente a México, Miami y Houston. La belleza de Lizeth solo fue superada por el amor que tenía por su amada familia. Su pérdida deja un vacío en los corazones de muchos que la conocieron y amaron.

A Lizeth le sobreviven sus padres, Miguel y Luz Martínez; hermanos, Jeanette Martinez, Bryan Martinez y Kevin Martinez; sobrina y sobrino, Jeanelle Pérez y Romeo Lozada; abuelas, Luz Maria Chavez y Josefina Martinez; y por una multitud de otros familiares y amigos muy especiales.

Le precedieron en la muerte dos abuelos, Armando Partida y Gilberto Martínez.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo a las 11:00 a.m., el sábado 10 de julio de 2021 en Chapel Hill Funeral Home. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 4:00 a 8:00 p.m., el viernes por la noche, en Chapel Hill con el rezo del rosario a partir de las 7:00 p.m.
