Lucette attended the Jacques Fath Cosmotology and Hairstyist Class in Paris, France.  Jacques Fath was a well known for designing perfume.

On December 5, 1945, the entire Tschirhart family moved to San Antonio, Texas following the end of WW II.  Lucette’s father, Arnold Tschirhart, was born in Hondo, Texas and fought in the First World War in France where he met and married Lucie Tissot in 1919.

Upon arriving in San Antonio, she got a job with Frost Bros., working at Maison Antoine Beauty Salon and did very well.  They sent her to New York for a contest and she won first place with her hairstyle.

In 1951, she left for California where her brother John was and worked there as a hairstylist.  She rented a shop in North Hollywood, California to have her own business called ‘Lucette Beauty Salon” for many years.

In 1967, Lucette married Georges Weidmann, a Swiss sous chef.  Georges eventually went to work for the Hyatt Regency in California.  Over the course of many years and many states, Georges and Lucette Weidmann settled in Austin, Texas where he opened the Hyatt Regency on Lady Bird Lake as executive chef.  Georges was famously known as the “Fajita King” by the creation of “sizzling fajitas” at the La Vista Restaurant within the Hyatt in 1982.  Lucette and Georges traveled all over the United States, Mexico, France, Germany and Switzerland often staying in Hyatt Regency Hotels as special guests.  Lucette enjoyed life to the fullest exploring new adventures and meeting many people.  Lucette volunteered at  many centers in Austin, but her favorites were Bethany Lutheran Church and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.  Lucette was very creative, exploring new styles of arts and crafts to include:  mosaic glass art pictures, oil paintings, water colors, knitting, and crocheting.  She also really enjoyed playing games like Mahjong, Rummy, Bridge, Solitaire, Scrabble and Dominoes and was very competitive!!   Lucette loved to send handwritten cards and enjoyed receiving them, as well.

While Lucette’s husband, Georges, known for sizzling fajitas, Lucette was famous for winning it all on the Price Is Right Show with Bob Barker in 1977.  Lucette had tried many times to get selected for the show but it was her day in Summer of 1977 that she showed up without a ticket and a nice young man had a spare.  She was selected and when called “Come on down Lucette Weidmann” that the dynamics began.  She bypassed contestant’s row and went directly on stage to hug Bob Barker, as she wanted him to autograph her scarf.  Bob laughed and sent her to contestant’s row and after bidding on a CB radio was back on stage!  She played “3 Strikes” and won an economical lemon yellow car.  She eventually entered the Show Case and bid $6900 on a showcase to include another economical lemon yellow car, a projection TV and a trip to Paris, France!!  The cars came in handy as our country was in a gas crisis.  Lucette proudly framed her autographed “Bob Barker” scarf and shared the story for many years.

Lucette will be dearly missed by her daughter, family, and friends and will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
