Life’s Journey

Psalm 30:5

‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.’

Marshall Allen Williams was the oldest of six children born to the late Booker T. Williams Sr. and Rozelma Harris Williams Benjamin in Gonzales County, Texas on April 4, 1947. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized.

In 1956, Marshall, at the age of nine, moved with family to San Diego, CA. for a better life.  He united with the Second Baptist Church. He received his formal education in the San Diego Independent School District where he attended and graduated from Kearny High School. He was drafted and served in the United States Army for two years where he obtained the rank of Sergeant. After being honorably discharged, he attended Mesa College in San Diego, CA.

Marshall was a skilled truck driver employed by Bekins Moving and Storage for 10 years and then later for Vons/Safeway Supermarket both in San Diego, CA, where he worked for 25 years before retiring in 2003.

After moving to San Antonio, TX. in 2005, he first united with True Vine Baptist Church.  Later he united with Cleft of the Rock Church, under the leadership of Rev. Les Bramlett where he served faithfully as an Usher until his health declined.

Marshall married Ferrill Davison and to this union, one daughter was born, Darla Williams. Later he had a son by Emma Jackson, Anthony Jackson. Then he married Carolyn Stone and in this union they became a blended family father of Kevin Williams, Natalie Williams, and Darnell Williams.  Finally, he later married Jackie Kizzie and to this union no children were born.

Marshall was a loving and caring father.  He worked hard and the welfare of his children meant the most to him. He would always offer a helping hand to a relative or friend in need. His true love and compassion for others was an asset and will be greatly missed.

Marshall was an avid mechanic and loved working on cars. He could fix/repair anything. YouTube was definitely his friend. His favorite pastime was playing dominos, Bid Whist, or Spades. He also enjoyed watching all types of sports and Westerns on TV.  He delighted in listening to "old school music " and "contemporary jazz" and had an outstanding music collection.

On July 27, 2022, Marshall answered the Lord's call and made the transition from life here on earth to be with the Lord and await HIS return and an eternal life in Heaven.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Booker T. Williams, Sr., and Rozelma Harris Williams Benjamin; three brothers, Ralph R. Williams, Booker T. Williams and Charles A. Williams: He leaves to cherish his memory, five children; Kevin Williams, Natalie Williams, Darnell Williams McAllister(Alexander), Darla Williams and Anthony Jackson;  two sisters Patricia Ann Williams and Cynthia Rose  Thompson (James); two aunts Madeline Harris Pleasant, and Rosa Harris; fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren.
