Rose Mary Crowder, age 95, longtime resident of Windcrest, passed away in the mid-morning hours of Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Meridian Care Center in San Antonio. Rose Mary was born on April 11, 1926 in Schulenberg, Texas. She grew up in Waelder, Texas where she found early in life the love she had of music, singing and performing, a love she would carry through her entire life.
Rose Mary was a hard-working woman, a single mother of two beautiful girls, and would do whatever was necessary to provide for her family. She worked for a period of time at USAA before finding her skill and passion as a furniture saleswoman. Rose Mary worked for several store before honing her skills and creating a career at Levitz Furniture where she would eventually retire.
Those who knew Rose Mary best will always remember her as a firecracker of a woman who loved the spotlight and to entertain – making her passing on the 4th of July a fitting farewell. Rose Mary last enjoyed serving the Lord with the Widow’s Mite Church and Reverend Terry Mims.
Rose Mary’s life will be remembered in celebration of a lady who lived life her way – full of passion and love while blessing those around her with her the sweet tones of her voice, the whit and charisma that could light up any room, and a strong dedication to her beloved daughters.
Rose Mary is survived by two daughters, Collette Stoneking and Rosayanna Fellini, and by a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many special friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services for Rose Mary Crowder will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with members of the Widow’s Mite Church serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
